RUMICI - The Rural-Urban Migration in China and Indonesia Project

The Rural-Urban Migration in China and Indonesia project was established to investigate the impacts of internal migration within China and Indonesia. In particular, the investigation is focussed on the collection of data through five year longitudinal surveys in China and Indonesia and the use of these data to answer questions regarding migration's impact on income mobility, poverty alleviation, the education, health and nutrition of children of migrant workers, and the assimilation of migrant workers into the city.

We are currently completing a sequence of pilot surveys prior to commencing the main round of sampling so our site is still a little sparse. However, please have a look at our ARC funding application (pdf 84.89Kb) if you wish to get a feel for the project.
